In order to view your Dahua CCTV system (DVR, NVR, IP camera) through your web browser, you need to setup ActiveX controls on your browser. Here we will show how to set up properly the ActiveX controls for Dahua equipment.
Step 1. Open up Internet Explorer on your computer (Windows). Don’t mistake it for Edge which is a different browser.
Step 2. Click on tools (gear in the image) and go to Internet options.
Step 3. Go to the Security tab and click on the Custom level button.
Step 4. Locate the ActiveX control settings and make sure that they are all enabled. If the enable option says (not secure) set that option to prompt. Then hit OK.
Step 5. Next click on the green check mark that says Trusted sites. After that click on the Sites button. Add your DVR/NVR/IP camera’s IP address to your list of trusted sites. When adding your IP make sure that the “Require server verification” check box at the bottom is unchecked. After adding your IP, click close.
Step 6. Next, click on the Custom level button and locate the ActiveX control settings and make sure that they are all enabled. If the enable option says (not secure) set that option to prompt. Then hit OK. Your ActiveX controls are now all enabled and you will be able to view your DVR/NVR/IP camera on your browser.
Note: If you still get asked setup ActiveX, then restart your browser and re-access your Dahua CCTV system. These instructions work for Internet Explorer only, not Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
